SOLID and Ensol presented jointly solar thermal approaches for district heating

At XXVIII Spring Meeting of Heat Engineers on July 12-14 in Zakopane, Poland

During three days 450 specialists related to the heating industry came to the capital of the Polish Tatra Mountains to take part in the Spring Meeting of Heat Engineers. The most important conference topic was the transformation of district heating. 43 presentations were given during the introductory panel, further there were six technical panels with 16 participants in 2 interesting debates.
The EU climate policy undoubtedly affects the heating sector. The industry must undergo a thorough transformation, which may cost about EUR 20 billion by 2040 - said Adam Grzeszczuk, president of the conference organizer BMP, at the opening of the conference.


SOLID and its Polish partner company Ensol presented their activities on the conference in Poland. With the topic “Solar thermal energy for decarbonizing the district heating sector” SOLID outlined the opportunity of using solar energy for district heating. Patrick Reiter of SOLID highlighted the importance of the BigSolar solution in the sector, as a key technology, to lower air pollution levels degrees in cities.
